      Weta: Bildqualität

      Hallo zusammen,

      http://poumpou.com/2017/03/08/rosa-fleckentraum/

      Judith

        Moin, also ich sehe deine Bilder alle in hervorragender Qualität. Sind deine Ansichtseinstellungen irgendwie komisch eingestellt?

        Hallo Judith,

        Marc

          Hallo Marc,

          vielen, vielen Dank. Photon war der Störenfried. Ich habe schon an meinem Bildbearbeitungs-Programm gezweifelt.

        Presentation of images

        Hi I have a few problems with UKU template which I have bought recently:

        1. After choosing slider style = ‘boxed’ accordingly to documentation I add picture with resolution 1440×690. In the slider it looks fine but small picture in section ‘latest posts’ – its right side has been cut. What size of picture should I add to have both pictures (slider and picture in ‘latest’ post section) properly displayed? – issue on computer screen

        2. In mobile phone view and tablet view slider photo is cut even if resolution of picture is 1440×690

        3. Why is fourth item in ‘latest posts’ section different? I mean each and every item has title and description on the left side and small picture on the right side. However, fourth is fullwidth by default.

        Waiting for reply

        Kind regards,
        M.

          Hi,

          1) the images will be automatically cropped for the different positions within the theme. However they should be centered, so that the same area on both sides should be removed. To maintain the same aspect ratio on your images, you’d need to adjust the predefined image settings. This can be done by overwriting the theme specific image dimensions within a child theme’s functions.php. You can download a prepared child theme directory, it’s linked in the Uku documentation.

          2) Since small devices often are used in portrait mode, it’s intended by the theme to display the image in another aspect ratio and therefore crop something from the right. You can deactivate this behavior by using the following additional CSS code:

          .featured-slider .entry-thumbnail a {
              width: 100%;
          }

          3) This as well is a design decision. You can change this behavior by using additional CSS code. You should find some working code in the forum.

          Please understand that we cannot provide help for individual customizations in the forum.

          Best,
          Marc

          Beitragsbilder für Bugis Theme

          Hallo,
          ich möchte die Beitragsbilder oder alternativ die Bilder, die ich in den Beitrag selber einfüge so groß haben, dass sie die Breite des Beitrags haben. Kann mir jemand sagen, wie ich das bewerkstellige – bspw. die Pixel-Größe nennen? David

            Hallo David,

            etwa 600 Pixel ist der Inhaltsbereich auf größeren Displays breit, etwa 730 Pixel auf kleinen (meist mobilen) Geräten. Mit 730 Pixeln (bzw. dem doppelten für HiDPI-Displays) solltest du auf der sicheren Seite sein.

            Viele Grüße
            Marc

              Leider klappt das so nicht., Das Theme kürzt das Bild immer auf quadratisch ein. Da lässt sich kein wirklicher bildlicher Eindruck schaffen. Das bild ist dann dafür viel zu klein. Deshalb nochmals meine Frage: Wie bekomme ich ein Bild in der Artikelübersicht, hinein, dass die ganze Breite des Artikels einnimmt?

              David

                Hallo David,

                sorry, das gilt in der Form nur für die Bilder, die du selbst einfügst. Die Größe der Beitragsbilder kannst du im Dashboard unter Einstellungen -> Medien vorgeben. Nach einer Änderung dieser Einstellung installiere bitte das “Regenerate Thumbnails” Plugin und führe es einmal unter Werkzeuge -> Regen. Thumbnails aus um die Bilder in den neuen Größen zu berechnen.

                Viele Grüße

            Weta Blog Post Darstellung: 2 oder 3 spaltig Text rechts?

            Hallo Leute,

            hat jemand einen Tipp oder einen html Code für eine andere Blog Darstellung?

            Hätte gerne etwas ähnliches wie auf der Startseite z.B. 2 oder 3 spaltig (mittelformat bild) und Text rechts?

            Geht das?

            Lieben Gruß,

              Dass Du die Startseiten-Template beliebig oft auf Seiten anwenden kannst, weißt Du? Und dann mit dem Jetpack-Plugin die Widget-Sichtbarkeit steuern, also das Weta-Recent-Posts-Widget dann entsprechend für die Blog-Seite wie gewünscht einrichten und nur dort anzeigen lassen, umgekehrt die Ansichten, die Du für die Startseite nutzt nur dort anzeigen lassen.

                Hallo Silvia,
                danke für die Erklärung. Das Problem ist glaub ich, dass ich Jetpack nicht benutzen kann, weil der mir immer sagt, ich müsste bei wp.com anmeldet sein. Irgendwie klappt das gerade nicht :(

                Deswegen frage ich ja ob mir nicht ein html code helfen könnte die blogansicht grundsetzlich zu ändern…

                So, jetzt hab ich endlich Jet Pack. Und was nun? Wo kann ich denn das Startseiten Template für die Beitragsseite anwenden? Bzw. wo kann ich die Widget-Sichtbarkeit denn steuern?

              Hallo Juli,

              folgender ergänzender CSS-Code könnte ein Start für die von dir gewünschte Umsetzung sein. Bitte habe jedoch Verständnis dafür, dass wir für individuelle Anpassungen keinen Support im Forum leisten können.

              @media screen and (min-width: 1260px) {
              	.blog .site-content .post {
              		width: 50%;
              		float: left;
              		padding: 10px;
              	}
              }

              Die von @sinitita genannte Methode funktioniert ebenfalls, jedoch kannst du das Template nicht auf die Beitragsseite anwenden, sondern müsstest weitere Seiten anlegen und auf die Beitragsseite verzichten. Leider gibt es so ohne Weiteres auch keine Möglichkeit durch die älteren Beiträge zu “blättern”.

              Viele Grüße
              Marc

            Image alignment for Ubud Posts

            Hi there,

            I have a small problem with the image and featured image alignment.

            I have included your suggested DIV tag for full width images, so the featured image and other images should appear the same width on the post page, however, the feature image is spaced slightly to the right, here is my page as an example:
            http://www.jamesbarberdesign.net/index.php/2015/10/25/nokia-5-year-phone/

            Could you help me to correct this problem? As a bit of background, I recently created the wordpress site, so it doesn’t have any other plugins installed, just the Ubud theme.

            thank you
            James

              Hi James,

              on large screens everything looks fine, but while scaling down the browser window you’ll see a small gap between the widths where the images aren’t aligned. Changing your custom CSS to relative values should fix this. Using the following values (please note they are guessed and not correctly calculated) should help understand what I’m talking about:

              margin-left: -33%;
              margin-right: -5%;

              Best,
              Marc

              Hi Marc,

              Just so you know, I have a 27″ monitor, so my screen is already quite large.

              I have noticed the issue on a number of other Ubud sites. Since posting the issue I corrected the problem myself in custom CSS with a left-align function. Would you be able to fix this in a new version of Ubud?

              Also, in my version of Ubud which I purchased and installed from a zip file, I don’t have the ability to remove the featured image from the top of a single page, could you add this function?

              Also, for some reason on my Ubud, the large images would not display properly at their full size – for example, all my images are the same width, but for some reason, the featured images displayed at the correct width on the single page, but the next pictures were made a lot smaller. I had to manually correct this at the start of the code for each of my single pages. It’s not a big problem, but it is annoying when I have to add it to each of my pages. If you think I have a problem with my wordpress or my computer (same issue on firefox and also chrome), then I’d welcome any suggestion you might have.

              thanks
              James

                  Hi Ellen,

                  Have you made an update to fix the problems?

                  I would like to continue building my website, so it would be good to use the latest version of ubud.zip download from your site.

                  Thank you for your help.

              Hi

              To show the front top featured slider with big pics (in your sample the pic with the text “Welcome to the Zuki Magazine Theme) I have followed the instructions in your video tutorial:

              • I have created the empty front page and I have selected the option “Front Page” in the “Template” drop down menu.
              • I have set it up as the static page in the Static Front Page customized menu
              • I have also followed the same instructions with the Blog page as you mention in your video.

              And then… what do I do? How do I activate the top featured slider? What posts go there? Where do I include the big size pics to be shown in the slider?

              In the video, after explaining that you need to create these two empty pages (the Front and the Blog one), you skip the top featured slider explanation and start to talk direct about the sidebar widgets (min 2:49).

              I am lost. I love this theme but I am finding it a big confusing to set up, please help.

              Many thanks,

              Mj

                Hi,

                please install the JetPack plugin and activate it. After the installation you can navigate to appearance -> customize in your dashboard. You should find a new tab called “featured content”, please click on it and enter a tag name in the textfield. You can choose a tag for the posts you want to display in the slider. The example name is “featured”.

                Next step is to create posts and add the previously chosen tag to it. You need to set a featured image, this image is used in the slider. Please make sure the image has a minimum width of 1200 pixels.

                Best,
                Marc

                Image scaling in UBUD

                Hi Elma Studio,

                Firstly a big thank you for your themes and especially Ubud – fantastic work.

                I’m having problems with how Ubud scales images: All the images on my website are 1920×1280 px in size and both horizontal and vertical. Whenever I use a horizontal image as a ‘featured image’, it works fine – a square preview is shown on the home page and all preview images are of the same size. Within the post the image is scaled to 970×647 px – all ok with me and looks great.

                Problems start when I try to use a vertical image. The first thing to go wrong is the square preview – it is no longer square, it becomes a rectangle and is out of line with other image previews. In addition when I click on the post, the image is scaled to 970×1455 px, which is a lot bigger than the horizontal image.

                This is really problematic because all landscape photos look great, all the vertical photos distort the layout on the main page and look too big within the post.

                I tried to fix it by resizing the vertical images to 40-60% of the original 1280×1920 px but that does not solve the problem. Can you guys please advise how to fix this? I looked around the options but found nothing to control scaling of previews and featured images.

                Thank you and best regards!

                Janusz

                  Hi,
                  please check again your settings in dashboard -> appearance -> customize -> theme options. Is the thumbnail format actually set to square?

                  May I take a look at your website? Maybe I can figure out what’s going wrong.

                  On single post pages, the image will be displayed in its full size, but you can set the max-height property, if you want to limit the height of the image. The following CSS code should lead you in the right direction:

                  .post .entry-thumbnail img.wp-post-image {
                  max-height: 647px;
                  width: auto;
                  }

                  Here you can find more information about adding own CSS to your site: http://www.elmastudio.de/en/wordpress-en/custom-css-wordpress/

                  Hi Mark, Sure – feel free to see the website at janusstudio.co.uk. The last post (Ben Nevis Path) is the one causing problems.. Surprisingly the thumbnail looks alright now. I threw in the CSS code you posted above (thank you!) and scaled it to 700px, also added left/right margin auto in the hope that I could center the image but it didn’t work. Any ideas how to fix that?

                  Best regards,
                  Janusz
