    Liebes Support Team,

    Beispiel: http://themes.elmastudio.de/zuki/

    Rechtsklick auf “Spices We Love” (sehr kleines Bild)
    Bild in neuem Tab öffnen
    Zeigt Bild mit vollen Auflösung > 1000 px

      Hallo @cb,

      Changing image sizes

      I’m wondering if there’s a way (or code used in my child stlye css) to change the size of the featured images and header image…the ones on the front page slider, as well as on the posts.

      I like the full width option, just wish the height was smaller. How?

            Hi @laurawoodward,

            you can use a child theme and change the custom image sizes added by Uku. A prepared child theme folder is linked in the Uku documentation. The child theme contains a functions.php and you’d need to add code like the following in order to replace the image sizes:

            add_action('init', 'replace_image_sizes');
            function replace_image_sizes() {
            	remove_image_size( 'uku-standard-blog' );
            	add_image_size( 'uku-standard-blog', 1234, 567, true  );

            You can find the defined image sizes within Uku’s functions.php file. After adding the code, please install and run the “Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin, in order to recalculate your existing images into the new image dimensions.

        Hawea product category image

        Hi there,

        I have a problem with the category images in my shop.
        Marc wrote: In case your subcategories images are displayed above the products, you probably changed the setting of this category. You can edit the category and change the “Display Type” to only display products and hide the subcategories.
        I’ve tried that but it doesn’t work.
        Under category’s screen options I’ve removed the tick in the image box, nothing changed..
        How can I solve this problem? Anybody knows?

        Here is the link to the problem: http://pinipiru.com/shop/

            WooCommerce Image Resizing

            Thanks for the beautiful theme. We are using it for my wife’s art website I have a question that I hope you can help with. I am not seeing the images of products within woocommerce widget resizing with the window size. If you visit katikleimola.com you can see that they’re static at 180px. I notice on the demo site they scale nicely. I have deactivated plugins to no avail.

            Thanks for your help!

              Hi Ryan,

              please check your settings in your dashboard at WooCommerce -> Settings -> Products -> Display -> Product Images. Weta should have defaulted the image sizes to 660 x 742 each. Did you change these settings? If they differ from 660 x 742 please reset each entry and install and run the “Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin once.

              Thanks, Marc. It worked to reset the image sizes manually.

              Weta – Images rotated horizontally

              I recently installed the Weta theme on my site. All the images I’ve uploaded since that should be displaying vertically display horizontally in the theme. Do I need to make them a certain size before uploading or something? They show as rotated in the wordpress media folders and in the HTML coding show as being vertical (the height is greater than the width). Any tips here?

              Many thanks!

                Hi Heidi,

                are the images actually rotated by 90 degrees or just cropped so the height is greater than the width? Rotated images often happen because the camera / smartphone the image was taken with didn’t correctly rotate the image and only added this information in the images meta data. This information is ignored by most browsers, so you need to actually rotate the images first.

                Hi everyone!
                I left this question here yesterday, but it has disappeared.
                The question is about the media settings in Black Walnut in order to make sure that the featured images work in the masonry layout for the blog page. I looked at the documentation, but it wasn’t specific. Want to make sure that I set those media settings in the wordpresss media settings dashboard correctly. (I do use the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin.)
                What should they be for this theme?:
                Thumbnail size = ______
                Medium size = ______
                Large size = _______ (1200 here?)

                My best guess would be this:
                Thumbnail size = 595?
                Medium size = 630?
                Large = 1200?

                Really not sure. Maybe it doesn’t matter? Just want to do it right.
                Thanks. :)

                  the theme does not use these image settings, you can set these values to anything you want to use for adding smaller images into the content of posts or pages.

                is it possible to have smaller thumbnails in my Moka page?

                  Hi there,
                  do you mean thumbnails of the image gallery? It would only be possible, if you would not use the Full Width Page template. Then you could use the extra div container with a CSS class of “wide-content” to show content in a wider width (840px instead of the default 720px) on this page.
                  I hope my answer is helpful!
                  Best, Ellen

                  I am using Zuki with Jetpack, as recommended. The carousel works fine but if the images have different heights then the space below the smaller images is empty. This looks particularly weird if there is one very tall image among the set – see http://www.christoph-amthor.de

                  It would be great if images could be cropped to the same height for the carousel. Is there any way how to achieve this, or is it a problem of Jetpack? I noticed that on your demo all images seem to display with the same height.

                    So I managed now to “fix” the problem by adding to the css:
                    .rp-big-one-content {max-height:700px;}

                      Hi Chris,

                      as you can see on your site, the images within the widgets are sized differently. To fix this, please disable the Photon feature of JetPack and install the “Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin. After the activation of the plugin, please run it once (dashboard -> Tools -> Regen. Thumbnails).

                      After this procedure the images should have the same size as long as you followed the recommended image sizes. (see Zukis documentation)

                  I am sorry to ask, but I spent some time browsing this forum, watching the video and reading the documentation. And I am still unable to have any picture displayed on the front page as the demo does.
                  I’ve seen several other questions about them. Either they had not been answered, or, for a single case, the post author answered itself «My bad, I found ti» without further explanation. Frustrating and feeling idiot, I did not find it by myself.

                  How should I manage my pic(s) in an article to be displayed as thumbnail on the front page?

                  Thank you for any kind reply ;)

                    Hi there,
                    did you already include “Featured Images” to your posts? To get the preview images in Ubud you will need Featured post images for all posts. Please let me know, if this is not solving the issue. Please just let me know your site URL, if you need further help, too, so I can check the issue on your website directly.
                    Thanks a lot!

                    Ok, Ellen.
                    When you suggested me te give you my URL that rang a bell to me. I was testing the template on a local server (XAMPP).
                    So I uploaded Ubud on one of my working remote blog and it worked like a charm.

                    So, that’s odd, but your theme refuses to display the thumbnails when hosted on a local server… Well…

                    Anyway, thanks for your quick and kind reply (as usual), and thanks again for all your good work!

                  I am so excited to have my site set up using Zuki, but the images are being served as resized instead of using the thumbnails. My page is very very slow to load. I have tried everything to help the page load speed, but still having no luck at all. Do the images just resize or are thumbnails used?

                      the theme defines some own image sizes and uses them where it’s reasonable. It would be possible to create an own image for each size and orientation, but this wouldn’t be practicable. Since you do understand the code, feel free to add some more image sizes and replace the image calls in the widgets.php (subfolder “inc”). Please be aware that additional image sizes will fill up your webspace. Keep in mind that there may be visitors with high resolution displays, who will be able to see sharper and greater images.

                    Moinsen, ich verwende das Zuki und da ist mir aufgefallen:

                    Ich lade meine Bilder in 1200×800 hoch, wenn ich diese dann aber in “Full-Size” in eine Page einbinde, werden die via HTML zwar als width=1200 angezeigt, aber “Photoshop sagt mir”, dass die nur 840px breit sind. Das heißt: Die füllen nie die ganze Breite aus, obwohl sie das eigentlich müssten…

                    Hab jetzt für meine Page ne extra CSS-Class via page-id-123 gemacht, aber irgendwie kann das doch auch nicht das gelbe vom Ei sein?

                    • Ellen (Support-Team) 4:58 pm on December 16, 2014 Permalink | Log in to Reply

                      Für den Standard-Blog werden die Bilder im Zuki-Theme auf 840px Breite automatisch beschnitten, die 1200px Breite wird dann nur für Die Full Width Recent Post widgets und den Slider in der Front-Page genutzt. Das spart Dateigröße, da die Bilder im Blog ja nicht größer als 840px benötigt werden. Wenn du dieses Verhalten individuell ändern möchtest, müsstest du den content-width Wert von 840px für Zuki in der functions.php Datei auf 1200px ändern. Und dann eventuell noch einmal das “Regenerate Thumbnails” Plugin für deine älteren Artikel laufen lassen.

                      Grüße, Ellen

                        die von dir hochgeladenen Bilder befinden sich in deiner WordPress-Mediathek, erreichbar im Dashboard mit dem Menüpunkt “Medien”. Dort kannst du diese einfach herauslöschen (anklicken und den roten Link “Unwiderruflich löschen” anklicken). Danach stehen sie weder zur Einzel-Auswahl noch für die zufällige Darstellung zur Verfügung. Das kannst du unter Design -> Kopfzeile überprüfen.

By default Zuki does not offer a right-aligned title or logo image, but if you let me know in more detail (maybe even with a sketch) what you want to achieve I will try to give your the custom CSS code to do it.

                          I’ve been using Zuki theme for awhile, and originally it just wasn’t showing my images when clicking on the blog articles. (Which is what I originally wanted to ask how to fix, since that’s a big problem.)

                          But now I see that none of my images are showing on mobile devices?? I was thinking the issue was linked to ‘featured images’, but now I have no idea what is wrong.

                          Is there a way to make the images on the archive pages(post overviews) link to the designated posts?
                          Just like the title and the read more do.

                            Hi, I just set my Zuki theme for my web site..
                            I have some questions:

                            1. Images: what is the exact size to insert the images in the slider, and in the post?
                            2. I already had a lot of images on my site and now they are all in different sizes…. How can I make them consistent? Regenerate Plugin has not yet been tested on this version of WP and that gives me problems …
                            3. In some titles of the featured posts in slider, some words break and start a new paragraph … (hyphenation)… I don’t like it .. how can I do to bring the whole word in the line below?

                            Thanks for your help!!

                              Hi there, and sorry for my late reply to your questions.

                              1. You can find all recommendation for image sizes at the top of the Zuki text documentation: http://www.elmastudio.de/en/themes/docs/zuki/

                              2. You can use the “Regenerate Thumbnail” plugin for this. Just install and run the plugin one time, with the Zuki theme already installed.

                              3. In general the hyphenation is needed, so that longer titles won’t break the layout. If you wish you can deactivate it with some Custom CSS (e.g via the Custom CSS Jetpack plugin feature):

                              h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 {
                              -webkit-hyphens: none;
                              -moz-hyphens: none;
                              -ms-hyphens: none;
                              hyphens: none;

                              Best, Ellen

                              Hi there!
                              I would like to change the default setting for the width of my posts.
                              I have hidden the featured images and I use the plug in meta slider to show my images in a slider.
                              I would like to be able to use sliders and videos wider than 700 pixels. I would like to set it to 935.
                              Is that possible?
                              Thank you!

                                I would like to modify the default image placement in Tatami from flush left to center. How can I achieve this?

                                Thank you!

                                  you can set the default image placement directly in your admin panel. If you set the image placement one time to center, WordPress will remember your setting for the next image placement.

                                  If you want to change all left-aligned images that are posted on your blog already, you would need to change the CSS for the class “alignleft” in the Custom CSS, although I would actually not recommend that, since you might want to use left-aligned images later on. The CSS you would need to change under Theme Options / Custom CSS is:

                                  .alignleft {
                                  float: none !important;
                                  display: block !importent;

                                  This would force all left-aligned images to center in the content area and use the whole content area width, without the text to float around the image.
                                  Best, Ellen

                                  I am having a problem with two of the same images appearing on my individual posts. The featured images (above the headline) is a duplicate the one placed in the post via the editor (below the headline). Originally, Ellen asked me to remove some code in the content-single.php file and delete the follwing lines of code:

                                  <a href="” title=”” class=”post-thumb”>

                                  However, since the Tatami update the code (above) I need to remove is no longer there.

                                    Hi, the code should still be in the file. Corresponding to your settings in the theme options the relevant lines are 17, 29 or 33. Removing the line hides your featured image in the posts. Are you using a child theme?

                                      Yes, I am using a child theme.

                                      In the content-single.php file you mention removing one of these lines (17, 29 OR 33).

                                      Line 17 is:
                                      <a href="” title=”” class=”post-thumb”>

                                      Line 29 is:
                                      <a href="” title=”” class=”post-thumb”>

                                      Line 33 is:
                                      <a href="” title=”” class=”post-thumb-small”>

                                      Can you clarify?

                                      Also, I actually do not wish to hide the featured image on the post – I want to hide the duplicate image below the headline.

                                        The lines represent the three available settings in your theme options. You can simply delete all the lines.

                                        I guess it would be to much work to delete the first images you placed into the posts via the editor? Can you show me an example page? I think we can hide the first image in your blog posts with CSS.
