      Uku Standard [Mobile] Überschriften scrollen über das Fixed Menü

      Beim Uku Theme Taupo scrollen Überschriften auf der Startseite “über” das fixed Menü. Zu sehen auch in eurem Beispiel http://themes.elmastudio.de/uku/ beim Featured Post one column und bei den Latest Posts. Das Problem tritt in allen gängigen Mobile-Browsern auf. Wie kann ich das lösen oder ist das ein Theme-Bug?

        Hallo,

        vielen Dank für den Hinweis. Hier handelt es sich tatsächlich um einen Bug. Bis dieser in einem Theme-Update behoben wurde, verwende bitte folgenden ergänzenden CSS-Code:

        #site-branding {
        	z-index: 101;
        }

        Viele Grüße
        Marc

        Select featured post in Weta

        Hello Team,

        I tried several of your themes and they’re the best !
        For my project, I finally chose Weta which is perfect.
        I just wonder, how to show featured post in one of the frontpage widget. I mean, I can only select order by publish date or randomly and I actually need to show the last post marked as “featured”.

        Could you help me with that ?

        Thanks a lot.

        Julien

          Hi Julien,

          you can create a “featured” category and enter the category slug into the widget settings. The widget will only display posts assigned to this category.

          Best,
          Marc

          Hello! I’ve been having some trouble with featured images in Zuki when I share my posts in Facebook and Twitter… because Facebook doesn’t seem to recognize the featured image, and ends up using the second image available in the post. When I share the post is not that big of a deal, since I can upload another photo that works, but that’s not the case for people who “like” my posts directly from the website or share them using the Simple Share Buttons plugin.

          I tried using the plugin you suggest in your blog post about Facebook images, and it works for when I post, but the problem remains for when other people share my posts, and also it doesn’t work for when I share my posts in Twitter (it keeps grabbing the second image).

          I’m creating a new message for this because the other one was old and I’ve noticed old messages don’t get much attention, and I really need to solve this soon. I’d really appreciate any help.

          Thanks and warm regards!

            Hi,

            I’d still love to check the Twitter and Facebook meta data provided by your website. Please post a link to it, so I can check it out.

            Best,
            Marc

          Hi, i know that there are a lot of post on the featured slider, but I still don’t understand what’s wrong.

          • I downloaded and installed jet pack
          • Home page with featured slider option, tag: featured
          • Add 3 new articles and a featured image for all of them, and I put the tag “featured” in them
          • Then aspect – customization: I write “featured” in that gap

          nothing happen, maybe the featured images for the articles had to be exact 1070 x 600 px??

          images in the article are 1070 x 713 px

          please can you help me

          this is my blog: http://www.weddings.giulianodelgatto.com

            I resolved by myself, the problem was the jetpack photon, once I deactivated it, the slider appeared!

              Hi Giuliano,
              thanks so much for letting me know, I will check, if I can make the slider compatible with the photon feature in the future!
              Best, Ellen

            Hello! I just created a new post for my blog… until now everything was working perfectly, I have been using the widget for “recent posts with background” and all my thumbs were small versions of the featured image (without changing ratios or anything). The new post ended up having a weird thumb with the text all cropped, and when I tried changing it and using the plugin for regenerate thumbnails, it changed ALL my thumbs to the way I don’t like it!!! I have no idea how to turn back, I’ve tried everything but now my blog looks awful because I put text on the images and in the thumbnails is all cropped.

            Please, could anyone help me solve this?

            Thanks.

              Hi,

              Zuki uses its medium portrait format, which is 420 x 560 pixels, for the Recent Posts (Background) widget. In order to preserve text in your images, you need to create images in the same aspect ratio.

              I guess this would create a lot of work, since you’d need to change alle existing featured images. You can change the medium portrait format of Zuki to another aspect ratio. The definition can be found in Zukis functions.php. After changing the values (420 & 560) you need to run the regenerate thumbnails plugin again.

              Please be aware that an update of Zuki will overwrite your changes. To prevent this, you can create a child theme and replace the image size in the child themes functions.php. A prepared child theme folder is linked in the documentation of Zuki. The following resources can help to implement this:
              https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
              https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_image_size

              Please understand that we cannot provide support for theme customizations in the forum.

              Best,
              Marc

              Hi

              To show the front top featured slider with big pics (in your sample the pic with the text “Welcome to the Zuki Magazine Theme) I have followed the instructions in your video tutorial:

              • I have created the empty front page and I have selected the option “Front Page” in the “Template” drop down menu.
              • I have set it up as the static page in the Static Front Page customized menu
              • I have also followed the same instructions with the Blog page as you mention in your video.

              And then… what do I do? How do I activate the top featured slider? What posts go there? Where do I include the big size pics to be shown in the slider?

              In the video, after explaining that you need to create these two empty pages (the Front and the Blog one), you skip the top featured slider explanation and start to talk direct about the sidebar widgets (min 2:49).

              I am lost. I love this theme but I am finding it a big confusing to set up, please help.

              Many thanks,

              Mj

                Hi,

                please install the JetPack plugin and activate it. After the installation you can navigate to appearance -> customize in your dashboard. You should find a new tab called “featured content”, please click on it and enter a tag name in the textfield. You can choose a tag for the posts you want to display in the slider. The example name is “featured”.

                Next step is to create posts and add the previously chosen tag to it. You need to set a featured image, this image is used in the slider. Please make sure the image has a minimum width of 1200 pixels.

                Best,
                Marc

                Waipoua – Anzahl der “Featured”-Posts

                Ich wollte im Waipoua die Anzahl der “Featured”-Posts die auf der Startseite angezeigt werden reduzieren. Habe dafür in der featured.php das $featured_args Array angepasst:

                $featured_args = array(
                ‘post__in’ => $sticky,
                ‘post_status’ => ‘publish’,
                ‘posts_per_page’ => 6,
                ‘no_found_rows’ => true,
                );

                Leider ohne Erfolg – es scheint, als ob das ‘posts_per_page’ komplett ignoriert werden würde…
                Irgendeine Idee woran das liegt?

                  Hallo Zusammen!

                  Ich habe auch ein Problem mit Sticky Posts und dem Waipoua Theme. Meine WordPress Erfahrung ist zwar erst ein paar Tage alt, aber so wie ich es verstehe müssten Sticky Posts immer oben in der Liste der Einträge auftauchen. Das ist leider nicht der Fall: Die Beiträge werden immer nach Datum sortiert.
                  Auch der extra Sidebar, der Sticky Posts anzeigen soll funktioniert so nicht. Leider habe ich keine Ahnung woran das liegen könnte. Für Hilfe wäre ich dankbar.

                  Guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr!

                  so, nach etwas externer recherche und ein wenig trial and error, hier die lösung für mein Problem…
                  sollte in jedem fall in kommenden Update von Waipoua berücksichtigt werden, weil sonst die anzahl der sticky/featured posts nicht reguliert werden kann:

                  $sticky = get_option( 'sticky_posts' );
                  		rsort( $sticky );
                  		$sticky = array_slice( $sticky, 0, 8 );

                  		// Proceed only if sticky posts exist.
                  		// if ( !empty( $sticky ) ) :

                  		// The Featured Posts query.
                  		$featured = new WP_Query( array(
                  			'post__in' => $sticky,
                  			'caller_get_posts' => 1
                  		) );

              c
              compose new post
              j
              next post/next comment
              k
              previous post/previous comment
              r
              reply
              e
              edit
