Home Page and Re-ordering Posts Plug-in

      Hi everyone,

I recently purchased the Zuki theme to use for an online publication. The theme works great for most of my purposes but the issue that I’m having is stemming from my attempts to use a post re-ordering plug-in. This is the plug-in I’m using. It works perfectly on my archive pages, but the posts within the Zuki widgets on my home page are still being called by most recently created. The reason I’m looking to use a plug-in like this is because I’m not the end user. Different authors from the publication are going to be adding posts and it would be nice if they could use a simpler interface to reorder content.

For example, say I create 3 posts  Post 1 created at 11:00am, Post 2 created at 12:00pm, and Post 3 created at 1:00pm.
I would like the ability to display them on the home page in any order ( Post 2, Post 1, Post 3) without requiring the authors to alter any code.

Is this possible for the Zuki homepage posts, either through a plug-in or other means? I’ll also mention that I’m working on this locally so I can’t provide a URL, but I could paste some code snippets if necessary.

        Hi Zack,

I think the best way to approach this, is by getting in touch with the author of the plugin you are using, because this plugin already provides the easy to use user interface you’re looking for. The code for the widgets can be found in the widgets.php in the themes subdirectory “inc”. The used WP_Query function for gathering the posts can be used to manually change the parameter to sort by and may as well be the entry point for the plugin to sort with the user interface.

Please understand that we cannot provide help for plugins Zuki isn’t prepared for in the forum.

        Tags: elmastudio, SHOP THEME

Hi Ellen + Marc & Elma Angels,

Hope you are settling into NZ life and sorry to keep banging on about this. You did promise you will be releasing a shop theme by mid-summer. Just wondering how close you are to doing so or how it’s coming along. We need one badly for our business model to work. Nobody pays for journalism anymore so we need to sell our ideas and products. I’m sure it will be worth the wait ….

        Warm regards,

          Hi Bolaji,

no worries at all, I’m so sorry for my late reply. Yes, we are working on the shop-compatible theme at the moment (it will be a pretty flexible magazine theme with WooCommerce support). I’m so sorry that we are still not finished, I hope we can release the new theme within the first 2 weeks in August. If you like I can give you further details, if you email me or write here at the end of the months.

          Best, Ellen
