    Themes suddenly provide mobile version only

    I run two websites with Elmastudio themes: http://www.vivabritannia.de with Pohutukawa and http://www.psycho-talk.de with Tatami. After setting up a new iMac I noticed that I could only get the mobile version to show on the Desktop, both in Safari and Chrome. Also, when someone on iOS devices tries to force loading the desktop version, nothing happens either. Today I checked other sites using Pohutukawa and Tatami, and it’s the same. Any suggestions how to get the desktop versions back? (Suffice to say that I haven’t changed any website settings recently).

      Hi,

      the themes actually adapt to the available screen width and do not provide different pages for mobile and desktop view. This is why requesting the desktop page seemingly does not work, because there is no other version of the page.

      The actually available width provided by the browser can be overwritten with the zooming option, please try to use cmd + 0 to reset the zooming in your browsers. Please note that the theme adapts to the available width in your browser, meaning that a smaller browser window can “activate” the mobile view as well. Please try to maximize your browser windows.

      Which iMac model are you using? It might as well be the scaling of OS X itself that causes the pages to display in mobile view. Here you can see how to access these settings: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH14388?viewlocale=en_US

      Best,
      Marc

      Pohutukawa Theme – Desktop and Mobile view fixes…

      On desktop view:

      • What is the code to remove the black horizontal line in the header image?

      On mobile & desktop view (smartphone & tablet):

      • Are all the menus supposed to be displayed vertically centered after the posts? (ex: the menu box, categories, etc.)
      • Why are the sharing icons displaying vertically? Is there code to correct this? Do the sharing icons display vertically on desktop view?

      The site to view is: http://junkyardsnearme.com/blog

      Thanks!

        Hello jweaving,
        for the first problem you have to search for this in your CSS:
        #branding {
        width: 980px;
        margin: 0 auto;
        padding: 38px 0;
        background: none;
        border-bottom: 1px solid #000;
        }
        and delete the border-bottom:1px solid #000;

          Ok, I will check that out today!

          …on the second issue, the sharing icons (facebook, twitter, etc.) show vertically on mobile (smartphone and tablet) if you choose “view full site” — it seems to work if you use the mobile version.

          But on the desktop version, it is showing vertically no matter what I try.

            Hi,

            the following CSS should fix the problem:

            .sd-content ul li {
            	display: inline !important;
            }

            Best,
            Marc
