      Suggestion: for Cocoa theme to have thumbnails when showing posts under certain categories and tags

      Hi Elmastudio!

      First I’d like to say that I’m a great fan of your themes. I love them! I love how well designed they are. I mean designed, not just “coded”. That makes them really special.

      Now, I recently purchased myself a Cocoa theme and I’d like to give a small suggestion.

      I noticed that when you chose to display/filter posts on a certain category, you get a list of posts but there are no thumbnails.

      It would be great if we could see the thumbnails. Some blogs, like mine, for example, are very image oriented, rather than having a focus on text and stories. That’s why the thumbnails would be nice. Since Cocoa is very “bold”, I think that to have this extra feature it would make a great complement to the theme.

      That was what I was thinking about.

      I hope you guys keep up with the good work! I love your themes! :)

      Happy New Year! :D

      a.

        Hi @abreusky,

        thank you for mentioning this, but I’m not quite sure where exactly you are missing the featured images. Can you post a link, for example using the Cocoa Demo, to demonstrate the issue?

        As you can see here, the archive pages are displaying the featured images assigned to the posts as well.

        Best,
        Marc

      thanks for the amazing theme. if questions are out of the context please ignore and help me just with what you can:

      this is the website of the local organic food project I’m setting – local.org.pt

      • How do I reduce space between header address and images on the homepage?
      • I would like to have the homepage as a portfolio whose images (with mousseover effect and title) link to different pages (pages from the website and others like facebook) and not projects, is that possible?, I like the fist page template idea of http://themes.elmastudio.de/blackwalnut/ having several images as homepage. What I did was to set a page with images, but I can’t set images location where I want and I don’t know how to set them white and with a visible title with mousseover.
      • How do you introduce maichimp Newsletter successfully, I used the plugin but have no way to introduce it in the website pages or homepage.
      • this you came across any event list or calendar that matches onigiri look?

        Hi Hugo,
        I’m happy that you like the Onigiri theme! Regarding your questions:

        • Could you try to add the following custom CSS (via custom CSS option of Jetpack):
        @media screen and (min-width: 1150px) {
        #primary {padding-top: 85px;}
        }

        Please let me know, if this is not working.

        • Since Onigiri is a portfolio theme, only portfolio projects will be visible with the clickable preview images (like in the Onigiri live demo). Black Walnut offers a custom setting to include images and custom links instead.
        • You can use the code of the custom signup forms you can create in Mailchimp and embed it into a new page called “Newsletter”. I think this is the easiest solution. More on signup forms for Mailchimp here: http://mailchimp.com/features/custom-forms/
        • You can create a custom menu for your main menu under Appearance / Menus. Here you can include links or categories.

        Best, Ellen

          Thanks Ellen so much

          I might be really dumb! I can’t understand how this forum notification works and only found your answer last week when googling the same questions! by now website is almost ready, i have some final resolutions to have it finished – http://www.local.org.pt

          so,

          . adding custom CSS didn’t work with the position of the front page image
          i still want to have image touching the top of the window, assuring, in any case, that Front Page Header Intro Text appears under logo.

          . when in portfolio pages how do i remove/hide ALL PROJECTS FILED UNDER ‘PROJECTOS’

          . in onigiri links are only underlined whit mousse over, that prevents users to realized there is a link. only if they the mousse over the link they will realize so. can one change link definition to make it more like in sudobashi theme?

          . when creating portfolio pages onde can group different projects in each portfolio. I have three portfolio pages. when clicking in a specific project from one of the portfolios follows FURTHER PROJECTS. what happen is that i have all projects from the website and not only the ones from that portfolio page! How can i go around that issue and how can i remove the title FURTHER PROJECTS and just have the projects on the bottom.

          hope you can help me with this so i can finalize and present it to the world!

          thanks so much again, Hugo

        Main Menu Category List mit “leerer” Oberkategorie

        Hallo zusammen,

        ich bin treuer Elmastudio Kunde für das Premium Bundle und habe auch schon einige Themes umgesetzt.

        Nun bin ich aber auf ein eigentlich leichtes Problem gestoßen, wo ich auf Eure Hilfe hoffe.

        Im Theme Dorayaki möchte ich im Hauptmenü einen Menüpunkt “Kategorien”  einrichten, der selbst auf keine Seite verweist, sondern nur als “leerer” Container für meine Kategorien fungiert.

        Per Dropdown sollen dann die Kategorien meiner Wahl erscheinen. Im Grunde kann ich im Adminbereich – Design – Menü individuelle Menüs erstellen. Hier kann ich jedoch nur Kategorien oder Seiten als “übergeordnete Elemente” verwenden. Eine Lösung bestünde darin, eine Seite mit dem Namen “kategorien” zu erstellen, dann hab ich allerdings das Problem, das dieser “Hauptnavigationspunkt anklickbar ist und auf die Seite kategorie verweist. Das will ich aber nicht.

        Hier finde ich leider auch nicht das gesuchte: http://www.elmastudio.de/wordpress/wordpress-als-cms-menus-anlegen-und-verwalten/

        Kaann mir hier jemand eine Lösung anbieten?

        Danke schön

        so könnte das als Beispiel aussehen: “Categories” (ohne eigenen Link zu einer Seite oder anderes ) als Container für die Links zu den einzelnen Kategorien http://dustn.tv

          Hallo, ich hab das fix durchgespielt und eine Möglichkeit wäre:
          Einen Menüpunkt als Link mit dem gewünschten Namen anlegen, hier zuerst irgendeine http-Adresse zuordnen, sonst speichert WP das nicht. Dann “zum Menü hinzufügen” und die http-adresse wieder entfernen. Sieht nicht hübsch aus, funktioniert aber besser als in deinem Beispiel, weil dort der Punkt anklickbar ist.

          Meinst du sowas wie bei mir unter Stöberkiste?
          http://crazy-crow.de/

          Da mußt du nur in die oberste Ebene ein # als Url einsetzen.
