      Site header in Tatami theme off-center

      I noticed I am unable to center my logo in Tatami, because the theme design is off-center – the heading logo area does not align with the post image or column. By default it is off-center to the left of the center column by a significant amount of space. Additionally, the right column is narrower than the left column leaving the header alignment problem with the center column even more noticeable. You can see the problem here: http://www.poisonedpets.com. My logo is larger than Tatami’s, so it sits even farther to the right. Even if it were as small as Tatami’s (easy to change), it is still not aligning in the theme demo.

      Thank you, Mollie

        Hi Mollie,

        you’re right, the different widths of the sidebars are the reason for the content area being off center. If I see this correctly, you manually “moved” your logo to the left by adding blank space to its right. Do you still need assistance?

        Ubud images – # on front page, alignment on post page, & sizing in general

        Hi there –

        I just switched from Ponsonby to Ubud and have some pesky questions/issues:

        (1) Alignment of featured image in an individual post is off slightly, to the right instead of centered over the post body. It may be the same problem mentioned in this thread:

        My example is: http://bjacque.com/embracing-the-unknown/

        (2) On my front/home page — http://bjacque.com/ — the # images is 10. Shouldn’t it be 12? I have older posts and it would be nice to fill out the page. :)

        (3) On images in general, to make Ubud work properly & look at its best, do I need to resize all of my featured images? If so, I may go back to Ponsonby. I like the front page of Ubud because posts are represented visually in chronological order rather than a static front page in Ponsonby with posts displayed by category.

        Many thanks for your assistance and advice.

        P.S. I regenerated thumbnails and updated to Ubud dated 9/6/2015.

          Hi @bjacque,

          1) the described behavior is caused by your chosen image width. As you can see in the live demo, the images can be displayed much bigger. The following additional CSS code should adjust the alignment for your special case:

          @media screen and (min-width: 1200px) {
          	.single-post .site-content .post .entry-thumbnail {
          		padding-right: 35px;

          2) In your dashboard at Settings -> Reading you can choose the count of images respectively posts to be displayed on one page. You can simply switch “Blog pages show at most” from 10 to 12.

          3) In general you need to provide images with an width of at least 970 pixels, but you can change this minimum by editing the code in your themes functions.php in the ” // Adding additional sizes for Post Thumbnails” section. With three columns and squared images you need to change the following line of code. Switching to 700 instead of 970 should work for your images. After the change please run the regenerate thumbnails plugin again:

          	add_image_size( 'img-square-big', 970, 970, true );

          Please be aware, that these changes will be overwritten by theme updates.

          Renkon Alignment, Comment Removal and Overlay Modification

          Hello Ellen

          I love your themes and have used Renkon out of the box but need to tweak it for a different website.

          I am working on this website http://8floz.net/marconew/

          Can you please help me to resolve the following:

          1. In the Single Post page, the galleries and any image with a caption aligns left. How can I get it to align with the format of the Post page, i.e., centered?

          2. I would like to remove the “Comments are closed” and the dashes on the hover of the thumbnails (computer). I was able to remove the meta but can’t seem to find how to remove the comment blurb.

          3. On the thumbnails on tablet and phone, I would like to remove the overlay background and change the entry title color.

          Thanks so much!
          Lynn @8floz

            Hi Lynn,

            1) unfortunately I’m not able to reproduce this behavior. Can you post the link to a post, where the gallery / image is left aligned?

            2) Do you mean the dashes below the post title within the overlay? You can remove it by using the following additional CSS code:

            .entry-header h2.entry-title, .overlay .entry-header h2.entry-title {
            	background: initial;

            3) The following CSS code should do the trick. Maybe you need to reset these settings with a media query for the desktop view:

            .overlay .entry-header {
            	background: initial;
            .overlay .entry-header .entry-postformat a {
            	color: #fff;
            .overlay .entry-header .entry-title a {
            	color: #fff;

          Image alignment for Ubud Posts

          Hi there,

          I have a small problem with the image and featured image alignment.

          I have included your suggested DIV tag for full width images, so the featured image and other images should appear the same width on the post page, however, the feature image is spaced slightly to the right, here is my page as an example:

          Could you help me to correct this problem? As a bit of background, I recently created the wordpress site, so it doesn’t have any other plugins installed, just the Ubud theme.

          thank you

            Hi James,

            on large screens everything looks fine, but while scaling down the browser window you’ll see a small gap between the widths where the images aren’t aligned. Changing your custom CSS to relative values should fix this. Using the following values (please note they are guessed and not correctly calculated) should help understand what I’m talking about:

            margin-left: -33%;
            margin-right: -5%;

            Hi Marc,

            Just so you know, I have a 27″ monitor, so my screen is already quite large.

            I have noticed the issue on a number of other Ubud sites. Since posting the issue I corrected the problem myself in custom CSS with a left-align function. Would you be able to fix this in a new version of Ubud?

            Also, in my version of Ubud which I purchased and installed from a zip file, I don’t have the ability to remove the featured image from the top of a single page, could you add this function?

            Also, for some reason on my Ubud, the large images would not display properly at their full size – for example, all my images are the same width, but for some reason, the featured images displayed at the correct width on the single page, but the next pictures were made a lot smaller. I had to manually correct this at the start of the code for each of my single pages. It’s not a big problem, but it is annoying when I have to add it to each of my pages. If you think I have a problem with my wordpress or my computer (same issue on firefox and also chrome), then I’d welcome any suggestion you might have.

                Hi Ellen,

                Have you made an update to fix the problems?

                I would like to continue building my website, so it would be good to use the latest version of ubud.zip download from your site.

                Thank you for your help.

          Pohutukawa -Bild zentrieren

          Füge ich ein Bild in einen Beitrag ein und gebe an, dass es zentriert dargestellt werden soll, funktioniert das nicht.
          Rechts- und linksbündig angeordnete Fotos gehen einwandfrei.
          Beispiel: http://chillr.de/das-gesicht/

          Wen ich wie hier empfohlen das “width: auto !important;” bei “#content .wp-caption {” auskommentiere wird das Bild korrekt dargestellt.

          Nebeneinander dargestellte Bilder wie im folgenden Beispiel werden dann aber untereinander dargestellt:

            Hallo Valentin,
            könntest du einmal als erstes Workaround ausprobieren, diesen CSS-Schnipsel zu nutzen:

            #content .wp-caption {
              text-align: center;

            Viele Grüße,

            Hiding author and category in post

            Hello, thanks for such pretty theme (UBUD)

            I would like to know if I can hide the author and category inside my posts or if at least I can put them at the bottom of the post, I find it very distracting, I just have galleries on my blog posts. Thanks a lot!

            Also I would like to know if I can center galleries inside my posts, I only seem to be able to align them to the left.

            Thanks again for the great minimal theme, I love it! Cheers from Mexico :)

              Hi Daniela,

              to hide author and category on single posts, you can use the following CSS code:

              	.single-post .entry-details .entry-author, .single-post .entry-details .entry-cats {
              		display: none;

              The galleries should use the whole content space available. Can you post a link to you site with an left aligned gallery? Maybe I can figure out what’s causing the problem.

            The centring of the top header menu for Zuki mobile is giving me trouble.
            Ideally, I’d want this menu to be right aligned — the same as the desktop version.

            I’m using Polylang, so want to include a language flag, but don’t want it right in the centre of the top of the page.
            If I could right align this menu, it would sit along with the bootstrap mobile dropdown menu…

            I understand if this is outside of the scope of support, but if you or anyone else has any ideas on how to go about this — it would be much appreciated.

            It would also be ideal to have the mobile dropdown menu button above the logo, not under it…

            Thank you for all the work you’ve put into developing, updating and supporting your themes.

            Thank you,

              I found a solution.

              By adding the following code the the CSS Editor, it right aligned the top header menu.

              #header-top-nav {
              text-align: right;

              Dorayaki theme: how to align “Service boxes” on front page

              Hi! Thanks for this beautiful theme – I love it!

              I am trying to set up two “service boxes” on my front page and I would like them to display side-by-side (for instance on the live demo, there are six service boxes, two rows of three boxes side-by-side).

              I tried to follow the video and the online instructions carefully and I got them set up nicely on my front page, but they are not showing up side-by-side in a single row, they are stacked up with one on top and one below, so you have to scroll down to see the second one. I’m looking at the code and I can’t figure out any way to change this alignment. But I think I ought to be able to align them into a horizontal row, the way they are show in the demo.

              I would prefer to make all changes in the Custom CSS box, not make any changes to the theme and preferably don’t want to deal with a child theme.

              here is my site (it’s still under construction!) http://charterwellness.net/

              Let me know how I can change this alignment – thanks in advance!

                @eliza: Thanks a lot for your feedback, I’m happy to hear that you like the Dorayaki theme. I just checked your settings and I think you could just include the 2 service widgets in one widget area to arrange them side by side. Right now it seems there are 2 widget areas included in the page. I hope this solves the problem. Best, Ellen
