@kelake: Okay, thanks for your feedback, I will work on an update on the Baylys theme documentation to explain the Portfolio page in more detail. Best, Ellen” Hat sich da mal was getan in der Richtung? Kann keinerlei detailliertere Beschreibung finden. Freue mich über zeitnahe Antwort. Danke.

            Marc

Using Safari 7 on a Mac, in both my install and the demo site the front page widget thumbnails placement are off by a pixel. On my install the 3rd and 4th are off, on the demo site it’s the 2nd and 4th. I thought perhaps it was my eyes but I have since confirmed by blowing up a screenshot in Photoshop and using the ruler to check.

        Has this been noticed before?

@kelake: Hi, thank you for the info. I’m seeing the problem, I’ll check it out and forward it to @ellen.

On Google Chrome for Mac there is a large space between div id=”main-wrap” and div id=”sidebar-wrap”. This same display error doesn’t appear in Safari.

          Screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vu4d7uerlfc8xrg/Screen%20Shot.png

Pointing me in the right direction as to how to fix the error would be greatly appreciated.

          Thanks.

@kelake: Hi, I’m not able to reproduce the error. Does the error appear on the theme demo site as well? http://themes.elmastudio.de/moka/

Is your site online already, maybe I can take a look and find the problem?

            Best,
            Marc

Thanks. The demo site doesn’t reproduce the same problem. It’s a fresh install, can’t imagine what I would have done. The following is the site url: http://clarkmacleod.com/cms/

              Thanks.

Problem gone. Resized my browser window and the text snapped up to the top. Weird. I always have that browser window open at the same width and never thought that that would be a factor..

Thank you for the prompt offer of help.

            Baylys Portfolio Thumnbnails

My thumbnails on the portfolio page are 150*150 despite following the steps outlined in the documentation. Is there some step I may have missed?

            1) change thumnail image settings to 340*280
            2) select feature image
            3) publish

            Thank you

Can someone please post the proper steps to get the portfolio feature working. The docs. are sparse and no matter what I do it doesn’t work as advertised.

              Thank you.

yes, use the Plugin “Regenerate Thumbnails” and everything is fine :)
At the moment the source of the thumbnails is only at 150 x 150 px and break the design. After the use of the plugin your thumbs are 340 x 280 px (or what you want) again.
              *thumbs up*
              Regards Oli

Thank you that solves the thumbnail problem. But by selecting ‘featured image’ it also places the thumbnail at the top of the post which is I think counter to what is supposed to happen or at least what I see happening in the Baylys demo.

How do I make the feature image full size on the post page?

You found these deeper in the settings of your wordpress installation. Please look at MEDIA. There could you place 3 sets of the Images width & height. Sorry for my bad english :(

Thank you for replying and my apologies for not speaking German.

Unfortunately, the portfolio feature still doesn’t work as shown in the demo. Only by using the feature image function will it generate a thumbnail on the portfolio page, then as a result the thumbnail is also placed in the post. Looking at the demo the full size image is in the post not the featured image thumbnail.

There must be something simple I am missing. What are the steps involved in having the thumbnail appear on the portfolio page and a full-size image in the post?

                • Ellen 9:18 pm on April 4, 2013 Permalink | Log in to Reply

@kelake: The demo uses a lot of image post formats to show full size images on the single posts (like here: http://themes.elmastudio.de/baylys/2011/05/16/close-up/) If you want to use standard posts you could add larger images as thumbnails to your portfolio posts (at least 770px to show images in fullsize with an activ sidebar), change the settings in your media settings again and run the Regenerate Thumbnail plugin again after that. Now the standard posts would have also fullwidth images as thumbnails at the top of the post.

If you like you can also send your sites URL so I can have a look at the portfolio.

                  Best, Ellen

Thank you. It’s working now. I knew it had to be something simple. I needed to simply select a image format and all seems to be ok. I’m sure I had tried this but perhaps at the time there was a cache hiccup.

                    Thank you again.
