    Cannot work out how to add a new social media link in the social menu

    I want to add a link to YouTube in the social menu so it appears in the header and footer. But I can’t work out how to add this without hard coding so that the youtube icon appears and link etc.

      You would just need to add it to a custom menu “e.g. called social” and then mark the Menu Locations for this menu with “Social menu”.

      To add a link to your YouTube site, just use the “Custom Links” option and include your YouTube site URL and the name “YouTube”. The link should then be showing the icon and be added to your Footer and Header automatically.

    Make Social Media links open in new window

    1. I cannot work out how to make the social media icons/links open in a new window via the control panel or through editing the code if necessary.

      Hi there,
      you would need to open the advanced custom menu settings via the Screen options tab (grey button top right in the admin area under Menus). There check the box labelled “Link Target” under the Show advanced menu properties heading. Now you should be able to customize the menu items for the Social menu to open them via target blank”.

      Sub menu drop-downs disappear (UKU)

      If I add sub-pages the dropdown disappears before I can hover over one of the links in the toggle.

      It works fine on your demo theme but not on mine. I have tried removing all the custom CSS but it does not work and I can’t find where the CSS is different between your demo and my theme to change it.

        Hi @webdesigness,

        unfortunately there is currently a small problem with Uku’s CSS. Can you provide a link to the problematic page? I’d create a fixing CSS code snippet to help you out.

        Best,
        Marc

        I have exactly the same problem. With UKU light everything is okay. In UKU MAG the dropdown-links of subpages in the central main menu disappear (www.made-festival.de, because of this error currently under UKU light).

          Hi @popeye,

          please try the following code:

          @media screen and (min-width: 66.250em) {
          	.desktop-search {
          	   z-index: 1000;
              }
          }

          Best,
          Marc

        Removing items from the blog front page (UKU)

        How do I remove some of the items from the blog front page?

        At the moment it has the kitchen sink i.e top stories, weekly highlights etc.

          Hi @webdesigness,

          in your dashboard at Appearance -> Customize -> Front Page Settings you can remove sections by changing their category and tag to “- Select -” and the default blog section can be deactivated in General by checking “Hide default blog on Front page”.

          Best,
          Marc
