      Hi I’d like to add a notification promo…

      Hi, I’d like to add a notification (promo bar) plugin to a WordPress website using the Ubud theme. I’ve tried a few but none of them worked (the top menu disappears after activating the plugin, for instance). Any recommendations? Thanks!

        Hi @vparrilla,

        unfortunately Ubud wasn’t specially prepared for such plugins. I guess the default plugin mechanisms are interfering with Ubud’s menu. Please understand that we cannot provide help for unsupported plugins in the forum, but If you activate your chosen plugin and provide a link to your website, I’d check it out and maybe can help with some additional CSS code.

        Best,
        Marc

        Hi Marc, I finally used https://wordpress.org/plugins/dw-promobar/ and it did the job. Thanks for your quick reply.

        Hi Ellen, I’m using the Dorayaki theme for http://musicaantigua.consev.es, and I’m having a little trouble with the frontpage widgets: I’m using the widgets on pages plugin, and the Team member box (small) for pages. We’re 9 team members, and the trouble comes with number 8 on, which get on a different row. What could be the reason for that? Thanks!

          Well, I discovered through Renate’s link at http://themeforum.elmastudio.de/2015/03/22/hackerangriff-dorayaki-widget-on-pages/ that the widget on pages doesn’t work after wp 4.0 update, in fact it has not been updated for the last two years, so using it does not seem a good idea. So I’ve switched to the other widget mentioned in the documentation (Widgetize Pages Light), which also gives me the same problems described above, but at least it feels safer to use.

            Hi,

            the different text lengths are causing the problem. The following CSS code should fix it:

            @media screen and (min-width: 1024px) {
            	.team-box-small .tm-quote {
            		height: 200px;
            	}
            }

            Although the Widgets On Pages plugin wasn’t updated in the past two years, this is only an indicator for an abandoned plugin. We didn’t encounter any problems with the plugin since then, but of course you can choose between those two plugins, I just wanted you to consider this :)

            Best,
            Marc

              Adding that piece of code to the custom CSS fixed it. Thanks!

              I still think abandoned plugins are something to be clearly avoided, since they can easily become a security hole at any moment…

          (By the way, it’s a bit off topic here, but I think these forums would look even nicer with the Mercury P2 child theme by Ryan Sommers http://ryansommers.com/2014/05/16/mercury-a-child-theme-for-wordpresss-p2/)

          @vparrilla Thanks a lot for your feedback, you are totally right, I will update the Dorayaki theme as well as the documentation to prepare the theme better for the “Widgetize Pages Light”.

          Also thanks a lot for mentioning the Mercury Child theme. I did not know it before and will definitely test it here in the forum.
          Best, Ellen

          Hey there,

          I added the CSS code posted by Marc but it hasn’t changed anything. Only the gap between the rows got enlarged.
          Any tips? Here’s the website: http://goo.gl/EVUFHP
