THIS HAS BEEN RESOLVED – I don’t know how to delete

Hi, can I have a sepcific category displayed on the Ubud homepage?

I want to use my site as a portfolio and a blog. I do not want my blog posts to appear on the front page. I want artworks to be displayed as a selection of portfolio items.

Ubud Theme: Blog post vs Homepage Post

Hi, I hope you can help.

I am using Ubud theme and understand that when I publish a post with a featured image without a category, it will come up on the home page – great! I would like to have a separate blog page with posts that will only display on that page. Is this possible? At the moment my ‘blog’ items appear on the front page which is not what I want.

Sorry if it has an obvious answer. If it’s not possible can you reccomend one of your themes that will allow this?

    Many thanks

    Steve

      Hi @steeth,

unfortunately this isn’t intended by WordPress itself, but there are plugins to filter the posts on your front page. In general the posts page you are currently using as front page will display all your posts. With a filter plugin, you can select which categories you want to hide on your posts page and only display them on a category page for example.

Currently I’m not able to recommend a plugin, but with keywords like “hide / exclude categories front page” you should find something here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/

      Best,
      Marc

Hi lovely themes but when viewed on mobile…

Hi, lovely themes, but when viewed on mobile I get a very different appearance (blue boxes, etc). If I click on ‘View Full Site’ at the bottom (ie on Ubud), it then displays in the correct way on a mobile, if I click ‘View Mobile Site’, it goes back to the blue style.

    Any ideas?

      Hi @steeth,

it seems that you are using the “Mobile Theme” feature of your JetPack plugin. It uses an own theme to display your content on mobile devices. The feature is intended to be used with non-responsive themes. You can simply deactivate the feature in your dashboard at JetPack -> Settings.

      Best,
      Marc
