    Baylys, Unexpected greyish background

    Hi, Elma team! I’m developing a new website using Baylys. All good, as always, except for the unexpected greyish background that you can see here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B__50PNRuE_ETllyWmJVSGV2NG8
    This is on Chrome, on an Android device. I’ve tried on same Android with Firefox and it’s going pretty well.
    Any tip for what’s going on? Thank you!
    Best,
    Joan

      Hi Joan,

      thank you for noticing this bug. Please use the following additional CSS code until a bug fixing theme update is released:

      @media only screen and (-moz-min-device-pixel-ratio: 1.5), only screen and (-o-min-device-pixel-ratio: 3 / 2), only screen and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 1.5), only screen and (min-device-pixel-ratio: 1.5) {
          .sidebar-content #content .post {
              background: url(images/x2/post-border.png) 0 top no-repeat;
              -webkit-background-size: 20px 1px;
          }
      }

      Best,
      Marc

      Hi, team! I’m just trying Baylys on https://mercatperegarau.es and I see that the “Go to Top” in the footer area (^) doesn’t work. What’s going wrong?

        Hey,
        something is in your footer.php wrong. If you click the button it will do #site-nav-wrap . #top is the right. You can change this in the Theme Editor footer.php . There you must search for #site-nav-wrap and replace it with #top

        Hi,

        do you use the newest Version of the Theme and WordPress?

        Hi Joan,

        please update Baylys to version 1.1.1. There was a critical fix in order to work correctly with the latest version of WordPress (JavaScript related). You can keep track of the theme updates here: http://themeupdates.elmastudio.de

        Best,

        Can you tell me what’s going on? Maybe an update id needed?

          Oh, solved! It was a bad Uppercase in the style.css.
          By the way, I’ve seen there’s no longer ‘import’. ;)

          Hi! I would appreciate an answer to the post I wrote on September 13:
          “I’m on Dorayaki theme, dealing with the Widgets on Pages widget and WPML plugin in a multilingual web (http://gabinetedegestion.info/).
          The fact is that in the Home Page widget area «Novedades» (i.e.: Latests Posts) every post is shown in each one of the languages it’s been translated, ignoring the condition «ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == ‘xx’» I’ve configured in each instance of the widget (one for each language, coded by the corresponding ‘xx’).
          How can I get just the active (user selected) language versions of each post in that widget area of the main page?
          (The «ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE» condition is working fine on side bar widgets.)”
          Thanks a lot for the Themes and the Support.
          Best,
          Joan @mirato71

              Hi, dear Elmastudio team!
              Is it possible that something has gone wrong with Excerpts in Baylys Portfolio? Have a look to http://shortvell.es/actividades/ with Chrome and you’ll see the text out of bounds. I’ve tried with Firefox and it’s OK (font size is reduced).

                  I can’t open your website right now to see the issue live, but I will check the code for the plugin again tonight (I might have to release a small update). I will let you know here in the thread again, as soon as I have the solution.

                      Hi, please try the following CSS (you can paste the code into your custom CSS area in the theme options):

                      input[type="radio"] {
                      -webkit-appearance: radio;
                      }

                      input[type="checkbox"] {
                      -webkit-appearance: checkbox;
                      }

                  Hi, support team! I’ve installed WPML and Dorayaki theme and language selector (in vertical mode) is not appearing in main side bar widget area, but just a little horizontal scroll bar instead. I’ve tried with Baylys in the same site and it works fine. If I check horizontal mode for the language selector it displays correctly. http://gabinetedegestion.info/wordpress/ Thanks!

                    Hallo!
                    In Baylys, I have dates of POSTS correctly displayed (qTranslate and “strftime” option enabled). The problem rises in COMMENTS, in which dates are not displayed. You can see “j. F Y @ [here the time correctly displayed] · Edit”.

                    I’ve tried changing to Twenty Twelve Theme and there’s the date, well formed:
                    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B__50PNRuE_ENTNsc2l4dWc3OFU/edit?usp=sharing
                    Can you confirm if it’s or not ‘theme related’ or if it’s qT stuff? Thanks!
                    (Example of comments in the front page of http://shortvell.es/.)

                    Thanks for the support!,

                      @mirato71: Sorry for the late answer, please try to set the fourth option in the qTranslate settings at “Date / Time Conversion” (strftime and replace formats with…). Since the theme is not prepared for the plugin and the plugin itself states “Depending on the mode selected, additional customizations of the theme may be needed.” you may need to customize the theme. Unfortunately we cannot provide help for customizations in the forum.

                      Regards

                        Hi, Elmastudio team!
                        I’m in love with Baylys, but when I fill in the Link field in Responsive Slider, I see all the picture becomes link. Is it a plugin stuff? Can we change to a just-the-title link behaviour?
                        On the other hand, with no link filling in (in order to avoid an all-picture link), the title still remains as a link (?) to nowhere (in fact, home).
                        I think a optimal behavior should be:
                        without link filled in => no link anywhere
                        with link filled in => just-the-title
                        What do you think?

                          I’d like to know how category Portfolio posts are sorted by. It looks like post title is the default criteria, but it’d be better if we could control which items are displayed first. Is it possible? I’ll agree a tip.
                          Thanks a lot! Very good work!

                            @mirato71: Hi, they should be ordered by date, as this is the default. If you are using the default category for your portfolio (if you leave the category field empty in your theme options, “portfolio” is used), you can edit line 32 of your portfolio.php and change it so something like this:

                            <?php $portfolio = new WP_Query( array ( 'category_name' => 'portfolio', 'nopaging' => 'true', 'orderby' => 'name', 'order' => 'ASC' ) ); ?>

                            This should sort your portfolio articles by name (in ascending order). More information about sorting with the WP_Query function can be found here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Query#Order_.26_Orderby_Parameters

                            Regards

Danke

                            Hi, people from the forum!
                            I’m trying to fix a problem related with search widget.
                            My Baylys-themed web (http://shortvell.es/) has to be multilingual amb I’m using (for now!) qtranslate and “pretty permalinks”.
                            So, what’s wrong? When I change from default language (“es”, castilian) to 2n languange (“CA”, catalan), the search facility doesn’t find anything. Why? I’m not sure but I have seen that value of “action” is always “…shortvell.es/CA/CA/” (?)
                            I’ve tried even forcing value of “action” to correct one (with just one “CA/”) in searchform.php but another “CA/” is always added at the end.
                            Can you help me? Thanks a lot!

                              @mirato71: Hi, please try to replace your searchform.php with the original one from the theme. I’ve just tested Baylys in combination with qTranslate and the search works as expected. You also added a hidden field “lang”, which isn’t necessary when using the pre-path modification.

                              Regards
                              Marc

                              Bon dia! Using Baylys with recommended Responsive Slider, I see some responsiveless behavior in the slide title, specially in a smartphone-like, little display. It doesn’t reduce itself in the same ratio of the image, that results covered by the title.

                              Under construction: http://shortvell.es/

                              1st solution: I might include the title in the image itself, and eliminate the title display in baylyschildtheme CSS, but I have an additional “con”: the web must be multilingual, so have to be slide titles, and I think I’m limited to one image per slide.

                              So, thinking about other solutions, obviously I can post to Responsive Slider support, but…
                              Can I use another “responsive slider” in Baylys?
                              What do you think about all of this?

                              Vielen dank!,
                              Joan

                                @mirato71: Hi, you can try to use a relative unit for the font-size. The following CSS should work:

                                @media screen and (min-width: 768px) {
                                .slider-wrap .responsive-slider.flexslider .slide-title a {
                                font-size: 3vw !important;
                                }
                                }

                                But I don’t know about compatibility with all the browser in the wild :) It should work with modern browsers, so you could implement a fall-back for other browsers.

                                Regards,
                                Marc

                                Help! Facebook button not shown in Baylys’ posts and pages
                                Bon dia!
                                I have checked the first of the three share options in theme options and Twitter, G+ and Pint buttons have appeared at the end of posts, but not Facebook one. Curiously, there is a blank space between “g+” and “Pin it”. It looks like Facebook button might be there… but it is not displayed? What can I do?
                                Good work, beautiful themes!

                                  Hi Joan,

                                  can you show me your website?

                                  Are you using a plugin, which filters the facebook button?

                                  Regards
                                  Marc

                                    Hi, Marc,
                                    I’m not hosted yet; working in local. This is what I see: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B__50PNRuE_EcThYRW8zcHI0RU0/edit?usp=sharing
                                    Installed Plugins:
                                    Activated: Responsive Slider and qTranslate.
                                    Deactivated: Jetpack for WP.com (I had installed it to try to fix the problem but I’ve got no success at all. The result was the same. Facebook buttons not displayed.)

                                      @mirato71: Okay, it could be because of the local environment, could you let us also know which browser you are using, so I can check the buttons in my test installation as well? Thanks a lot, Best, Ellen

                                        I have tried with both Chrome and Firefox. I am under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
                                        Thanks a lot for the support!
                                        Regards,
                                        Joan

                                          Hallo, Ellen!
                                          Correction: now I have activated the Jetpack and the fb button works.
                                          In a few days or weeks I’ll be hosted and I’ll try again with the theme option. I’d prefer not to use a plugin if it’s not necessary.
                                          Best regards,
                                          Joan
