      removing authorisation and categorisation from posts

      I have neubau and use the posts for artworks and projects as opposed to blog. I’d like to remove authorisation and categorisation from both the preview and the post itself.

      This is where it says:
      , by MHL
      Category: Uncategorized
      under each post.

      Would you have some custom css that could get rid of them?
      Many thanks!

        Hi Mairi,

        the following additional CSS code should hide all author and category mentions:

        .entry-author, .entry-cats {
            display: none !important;

          HI Mark
          Many thanks for this! It has removed all but a comma – is there something I can add?

        TITLE Basic Qs title comments sub menus Hi…

        TITLE: Basic Qs – title/comments/sub menus

        Hi there.

        Forgive me if my questions are a bit basic, I am new to this. I have three questions relating to the Neubau theme:
        1. My name is the title of my website and it is too long for the header – it splits it. What can i do? (see: http://mairilafferty.com)
        2. How can i switch comments off and make the option disappear completely from every post – I don’t even want it to say ‘comments closed’?
        3. I want the menu across the top to have sub-menus (like in the demo). How do I make this happen?

        Any help would be greatly appreciated!

        Many thanks in advance, Mairi

          Hi Mairi,

          1) please try the following additional CSS code:

          @media screen and (min-width: 1260px) {
          	#site-branding {
          		width: 45%;

          2) Please try the following code to hide the comments and their mentions on your website:

          .entry-comments, .single-post #comments, .entry-author:after {
          	display: none !important;

          In your dashboard at Settings -> Discussion you can deactivate the comments for new posts and pages. The option to comment on existing posts and pages need to be switched manually. While editing your post or page, you can activate the “Screen Options” menu on the top right and check the “Discussion” checkbox in order to display the needed options.

          3) In your dashboard at Appearance -> Menus you can create a custom menu and move menu items via drag and drop (slightly to the right below an existing menu item) to create submenu items.

            Thanks for this Marc!
            Is there a similar piece of code to remove the author name (currently admin) from the start of each post?

              Hi Mairi,

              most browsers provide a tool to inspect the used CSS code of elements. Simply right click on an element and select “Inspect Element”, “Element Information” or else and the tool will open. It shows the used CSS and how to address the elements in custom code.

              Now you can address the specific element with additional CSS code like:

              .entry-author {
              	display: none;

      compose new post
      next post/next comment
      previous post/previous comment
      show/hide comments
      go to top
      go to login
      show/hide help
      shift + esc
