      Show specific sidebar in Blog page & single posts

      Hi, I’m a little lost. Maybe you can give me a hint. :)
      I’m looking for a way to display a sidebar on the blog page and on the single posts. I cannot find the option anywhere.

      Any tips? Thank you!

        Hi,

        the default sidebar will display on the posts page and on single post pages. You can place widgets in the Customizer (Dashboard → Appearance → Customizer) while being on the posts page or a single post page. Alternatively you can navigate to Appearance → Widgets and place your widgets there.

        Best,
        Marc

        Ah, thank you! I just realized that I had removed the main sidebar in the functions.php a while ago and forgot about that… now it’s back.

        Danke!

        Change top right menu / Translate “Search” placeholder

        Hi,
        I’d like to add page links (not social or woocommerce) to the top right menu. How can I do that? Currently it only shows a star instead of the link when I add a page.

        Also, the placeholder “Search…” doesn’t get translated into German although the WP installation is in German. Where can I change this?

        Thanks a lot!
        Mandy

          Hi Mandy,

          1) to disable the social icons and use this menu location with text links, you can add the following additional CSS code:

          .social-nav ul li a::before {
          	display: none;
          }
          .social-nav ul li a {
          	width: initial;
          	padding: 0 10px;
          }

          2) Which language are you using exactly? German, German (formal) or German for another German-speaking country?

          Best,
          Marc

          Hi Marc, thanks for your feedback!
          I use German (formal) as language.

            Hi Mandy,

            unfortunately Weta doesn’t provide a language file for German (formal), but you can use the following plugin, in order to fall back to the default German language file: https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/language-fallback/

            After installing and activating this plugin, you can set the fall back language in your Dashboard at Settings -> General to German, and strings provided by the theme like “Search…” will be translated to “Suche…”.

            Best
            Marc
