      UKU – Custom Fields

      Hello Elmastudio,

I have purchased Single Theme UKU. I’m using clear WordPress 4.7.3 (one post, one static page – default thema, one top menu and one plugin Regenerate Thumbnails) to test new Uku thema.
Unfortunately I have huge problem to show a big Featured posts image by adding a Custom Field.
I have followed your documentation instruction, loaded one single image greater then your recommendation (1440 x 690), used Regenerate Thumbnails and loaded as a featured image in my single published post.
I can’t achieve the same effect which is shown in the seventh paragraph of the manual (http://www.elmastudio.de/en/themes/docs/uku/). My post just not show up at all.

Would you please advice me what can be the issue here or provide me with step by step instruction?
I would like to also know more about capabilities/advanced possibilities of custom fields?
e.g. How many posts can be published in this way, can I chose posts to published?

      Best Regards
      Greg

        Hi Greg,

can you provide a direct link to your page? I’d like to check the issue live.

What do you mean by “My post just not show up at all.”? Can you visit the post by clicking on the “View” link in your dashboard?

        Best,
        Marc

          Hi Marc,

I’m using local test environment on my laptop (virtual machine + xampp + wordpress + uku + Regenerate Thumbnails) so I’m not able to provide you direct link.
“My post just not show up at all.” – I meant that my post is not visible on front page top menu or template sections, but after I’ve checked almost everything finally found the main root cause – static page settings and custom fields do not work.

UKU thema does not support a static page? Please see the screenshots from my test: https://postimg.org/gallery/n3kt7urs/

          Hi Marc,

          I have a few questions:
Does the theme support a static page?
How can I use custom fields feature on the front page site or other site (I tried to use that feature, unfortunately I wasn’t able to achieve the same effect as shown in the documentation)?
I miss “Recent posts” widget with category filter for UKU theme. Are you planning to upgrade UKU with widgets similar to the Weta widgets?
Please see my previous comment with screenshots attached.

I would be most grateful if you would look into this matter as soon as possible.

          Best Regards
          Greg

        Weta – Post slider

        Hello Ellen,

I have an issue with “Weta: Post Slider” on my website. It looks a little bit different than on your weta live demo site (no arrows), I wonder why? What is more my “next” and “previous “button doesn’t work at all. Would you please advice me what can cause this behavior?

Screen capture link (from my local test environment): https://s28.postimg.org/x2cbt8659/postslider.jpg

          Hi Greg,

the arrows are coming from the Genericons font provided by the theme or, if activated, by the Jetpack plugin. Are you using the Jetpack plugin?

In most cases not working buttons are the result from JavaScript problems. Please check if JavaScript is enabled and try to deactivate alle plugins once in order to rule out problems with JavaScript added by your plugins.

          Best,
          Marc

          Hi Marc,

Thanks for the advice! It helps! I do not use Jetpack plugin and my JavaScript is enable but I’ve found out that another Responsive Slider cause my issue (https://wordpress.org/plugins/responsive-slider/developers/).
