      onigiri grid customisation

      nice theme, great work.
      I know you don t support customisation on your template but i just want a
      hint or some links to read for editing the grid based on the jetpack portfolio.

      + i want to edit the whitespaces between the thumb nails
      + maybe implementing vimeo videos instead of a thumbnail

      where i can find the core css or js file to edit the space between
      the images? how does the whole stuff work?
      maybe you have a tutorial link or a small small hint
      to start my research. googelt 3 hours yesterday with no result

      + got it on line 2338:
      .jetpack-portfolio-shortcode .jetpack-portfolio {
      display: block;
      width: auto;
      margin: 6px;

      + now i want to try to center the whole grid?
      how can i do that?

      thanks so much
      kindest regards

        Hi Matthias,

        unfortunately it’s not possible to center the grid without further adjustments. The grid’s layout bases on the masonry library. An image search for “js masonry” will demonstrate when you’ll be able to center the grid. As you can see on the Renkon-Demo for example, the width of the images is fixed (one or two columns) in contrast to Onigiri’s flexible image dimensions.

        Hey Marc, thank you for your kind response. I think i understand. Do you have any reading tips to get closer to the jetpack grind and how i can customize it? Any links? That woud be so great.

        I want the Onigiri grid modified like this Cargo theme:.

        The thumbnails should be in line at the bottom and the grid should be centered.
        I am sure you as a professional has some links so i can start learning.

        Thank you so much and kindest regards

          Hi Matthias,

          the actual layouting of the images is being done with a JavaScript library. Currently I’m not familiar with anything, that will output a similar result, so you might need to implement this by yourself. Since the jQuery JavaScript framework is available within WordPress, you might want to check out some jQuery libraries to get started.

          A jQuery forum might be a start to gather some ideas based on your desired layout.

            Thanks Marc! Great information. Do you think in can copy some Information out of the cargo theme and try to implement it to the onigir?

              Hi Matthias,

              I guess you can study the used JavaScript, see how it works and start to re-engineer it.

                Hey Marc sorry its me again, i am still helpless.
                Ive checked http://cargocollective.com/titusandronicus and i think the layout is totally css based. Not jQuery so i cant learn from it. Thats bad.

                Ive seen your Onigiri is working with the masonry.min.js what comes with wordpress. Am i right? So in wich file the align margins and paddings of the thumbnail is managed in your theme? In CSS or JS and in wich files? I know you don`t support customizations but i need just some more hints.

                For example where are the divs wich masonry.min.js is using in your theme so i can follow the structure along?

                I am now reading this:
                But i cant figure out how it is connected to Onigiri?

                Last question. Can i hire Elma people if cant get it my self?

                Thanks so much!

        Onigiri Retina Thumbnails

        Liebes Team,

        danke danke für das großartige Theme! Unglaublich toll! Wie lang habe ich suchen müssen.

        Ich habe eine kurze Frage, wie ich sehe sind die Thumbnails bei der Portfolio Übersicht nicht
        Retina oder täusche ich mich? Ich habe mal versucht sie mit 190DPI statt 72Dpi rein zu laden was
        glaube ich nichts gebracht hat. Könnt Ihr mir einen Tip geben?

        Noch einen kleinen Verbesserungswunsch. Toll wäre es wenn man in Zukunft Videos direkt einbinden und abspielen könnte in der Übersicht. So wie hier:

        Liebe Grüße und noch mals Danke
